Unlike most of our competitors who claim to have climate control, we have a true climate controlled environment which means that we have a forced air HVAC system that provides heat in the winter, air in the summer and humidity control to balance - just like in your home.

FACT: Storing with Storage Spot will protect your stuff!
Because Storage Spot has 100% Climate Control, this will protect your contents from fluctuations in outside temperature as well as from mold and mildew on contents like your sofas, linens, clothing etc.

FICTION: All Storage Companies have Climate Control
FACT: While certain Self Storage Companies CLAIM to have a Climate Controlled environment, they in fact have irradiated floors or even less.

This means that the floors are heated. However, they will tell you that you can't put your contents directly on the floor (use skids), you can't put them up against the walls (so you loose square footage in your unit) and you must cover your total contents because an extreme fluctuation in temperature (hot or cold), will cause condensation to drip on your contents (almost as if it were raining in the unit).

This will cause mold and mildew and again can destroy your contents such as furniture, couches, beds, clothing, flat screen T.V.'s, etc.

FICTION: The unit is inside the building, that makes it climate controlled!
FACT: If a unit is inside the building and the company is claiming that it makes it a climate controlled unit, the fact of the matter is that there may be no heat or air going to the unit to regulate the temp. Yes it is indoors but it's not climate controlled.

Tip: If you are thinking of renting with a self storage company, ask them exactly how it is climate controlled. If they don’t say hvac in the sentence, then it’s not 100% climate controlled.
